FAQ’s

  • At ForTheVeteran, we partner closely with veterans to walk through the confusing and challenging process of VA disability compensation. Our in-house medical team are experts in the VA claims process and can help you identify the claims most valuable to your unique medical conditions and even help with evidence to support your claim.

  • At ForTheVeteran, we do things differently. Other companies charge veterans for upfront fees or expect payment years after a claim is filed. We only win if you win!

If we can't help you win your claim on the first filing, you don't owe us anything.

  • Our Free Claim Evaluation includes a consultation with one of our team members who specialize in maximizing qualified disability claims and medical strategy.

  • You can begin by filling out our free claim evaluation form and then we will schedule a no-cost consultation.

  • Once we do our part and you do your part, it’s up to the VA to review your claim, process your evidence, and make their decision. The VA currently estimates this process to take around 103 days, but in reality, we see this number often being higher. The good news is the VA will pay you retroactively for the waiting time, so the quicker you get started on your claim, the better.

  • The VA will review your claim and clarify anything else that you need to provide in order to process your claim. This will typically include scheduling a Compensation & Pension exam and sometimes additional paperwork. This exam is very important and our team will be ready to guide you through each step of the process. Communication is key–with us and the VA–so you’ll never feel like you’re going through it alone.

  • To begin working with ForTheVeteran, you'll need to provide one of the following documents:

Rating Breakdown: If you have previously filed a VA disability claim, please provide a detailed rating breakdown of your current VA disability ratings. This helps us understand your existing benefits and how we can assist in optimizing them.

DD214 Form: If you have never filed a VA disability claim before, your DD214 form is essential. This document includes critical information about your military service, which we need to start your claim process.

These documents enable us to offer you personalized and effective assistance, ensuring that you receive the benefits you deserve for your service.
